Biography

Rawan Mazeh is a Lebanese artist born in the South district and based in Beirut. She is currently pursuing a B.A. in Photography at Notre-Dame University Louaize. While her commercial interests revolve around the glamorous aspects offered by fashion and branding, her photographic series have a poignant and intimate focus on the aftermath of the wars in Lebanon, particularly shedding light on its effect in the South area. Mazeh has courageously accompanied professional teams into the southern lands where landmines implanted back during the war are diffused. The artist also focuses on the forgotten victims of the fatalities of war, documenting citizens that have lost body parts and family members because of these installed mines. She presents her audience with an intimate look on their post-trauma lives and hopes to bring attention to the subject matter.
